Lady Chaps Spike Falcons in Four in LSC Crossover

Bickley’s Big Night Helps LCU Earn Third Straight Victory

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (September 19, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University is riding its first three-match win streak of the season after opening the Lone Star Conference Crossover with a 3–1 non-conference victory (25–12, 22–25, 25–14, 25–13) over UT Permian Basin Friday evening at the Eagles' Nest.
 
The win improved the Lady Chaps to 7–4 overall (0–0 Lone Star), while UTPB fell to 2–8 (0–1 Lone Star).
 
Lily Bickley turned in a standout night with 13 kills on a .458 attack percentage to go with seven blocks for a match-high 17.5 points. Emilee Sikora added 12 kills, while Bryleigh Schweer posted nine kills, two aces, and two blocks on .563 hitting. Setter Camdyn Sears orchestrated the offense with 45 assists and 11 digs for a double-double. Abby Dominguez also added 10 digs.
 
UT Permian Basin, which completed the LSC Crossover with an 0-2 mark, was led by Sydney Bradley with 10 kills, while Nickilah Whatley chipped in nine kills and Lauren Demuth added eight. Setter Kierra Freeman handed out 21 assists and notched three aces, while Isabel Rodriguez dug up 10 balls to anchor the back row.
 
Game Notes
» LCU produced 10 blocks in the four-set win, which was the most in a four-set match since producing 12 on Oct. 14, 2023, ironically against UTPB.
 
» Lily Bickley had a season-high 17.5 Points, as she matched a season high in kills (13) and had a season high in blocks (7), which ties for the second-most in the senior's career.
 
» Sears posted 45 assists and 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. She hit the 45-assist mark for a second consecutive match.

» Schweer was efficient at .563 with nine kills and two aces. Adding Bickley's .458 efficiency at the net, Schweer (.305) and Bickley (.306) are each in the top-15 in the LSC in hitting percentage.

» LCU hit .311 as a team, while holding UTPB to just .074. It is LCU's third match this season to hit over .300 and UTPB's .074 hitting mark is the lowest by an LCU opponent this season (LCU is 7-1 when opponents hit under .200 this season).
 
» The Lady Chaps improve to 2-7 all-time in LSC Crossover competitions. They are now 1-2 all-time against UTPB in the event.

» LCU and UTPB met for the 55th time all-time, as LCU's win moves them to 44-11 all-time in their head-to-head series. LCU has claimed wins in four of the prior five meetings.

SET 1 | LCU 25, UTPB 12
Lubbock Christian secured a commanding 25-12 victory in the first set against UT Permian Basin, demonstrating strong offensive play throughout. UTPB started with an early lead, but LCU quickly responded, tying the score at 3-3 with contributions from Payton Murray and Jade Workman. Lily Bickley sparked a key offensive run for LCU, recording several kills to help her team pull ahead to a 9-15 lead. Emilee Sikora and Bickley continued to extend the advantage with consecutive kills, and the Chaps capitalized on UTPB's errors, widening the gap further. Camdyn Sears was instrumental with 13 assists, including a set point assist to Murray, securing the set for LCU. Bickley produced six kills in the set, as LCU hit .609 with 15 kills on 23 attempts.
 
SET 2 | UTPB 25, LCU 22
In the second set, UT Permian Basin opened with momentum, taking an early lead at 7-4 after a service ace by Emma Gonzalez. The Chaps responded with a kill from Tatum Fleitman, but the Falcons extended their lead to 10-5 with a kill by Lauren Demuth. LCU's Payton Murray and Jade Workman each contributed kills to keep the Lady Chaps within striking distance, closing the gap to 11-8. Despite a late surge from the Chaps, including a series of kills by Bryleigh Schweer and a block by Schweer and Emilee Sikora, UTPB secured the set with a final kill by Nickilah Whatley, ending the set 25-22. Schweer had a team-leading three kills in the set.
 
SET 3 | LCU 25, UTPB 14
In the third set, Lubbock Christian secured a decisive 25-14 victory over UTPB, largely propelled by a strong performance from Sikora, who recorded seven kills in the set, with significant contributions from setter Sears (10 assists). The Lady Chaps started strong, establishing a 5-2 lead, with Sikora's offensive presence evident early on. A service ace from Abby Dominguez extended the lead, while Murray's kill kept momentum with LCU. Despite a few errors from the Lady Chaparrals allowing the Falcons to close the gap, LCU regained control with Bickley's kill, and Schweer secured the final point with a kill, wrapping up the set 25-14. A 5-0 run early and an 8-3 run late by LCU helped them season the set.
 
SET 4 | LCU 25, UTPB 13
In the fourth set, Lubbock Christian secured a decisive victory with a final score of 25-13. The set began with LCU's Camryn Blair delivering two consecutive kills, assisted by Sears, to establish an early lead. Sears continued to distribute effectively, contributing to Blair and Schweer's kills and two service aces from Schweer that extended LCU's advantage. Despite UTPB's efforts to close the gap, the Chaparrals maintained control, aided by multiple attack errors from the Falcons. A significant stretch saw LCU capitalize on opponents' mistakes, with Bickley and Sikora closing out the set with consecutive points, ensuring a comfortable win. LCU closed the match on a 9-3 run. Bickley and Blair co-led the set with four kills each.
 
What's Next
LCU remains in Oklahoma Saturday with a quick turnaround to face site host Oklahoma Christian, who opened the LSC Crossover Thursday topping UTPB 3-0. LCU and OC open serve Saturday at 1 p.m. from Eagles' Nest.
