RICHARDSON, Texas (October 5, 2026) - Lubbock Christian University senior goalkeeper
Emma Wright was named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the second time this season Wright has earned the award.
Wright did not allow a goal and made six saves to help the Lady Chaps to a 2-0 week. The Longview, Texas, native made five saves in a 1-0 road match against UT Permian Basin. She made the only save required of her in the first half of a 4-0 win against Eastern New Mexico.
This season, Wright has played in 11 matches, posting a goals against average of 0.94 in 961 minutes of action. She has 51 saves, which is the fifth-most among LSC keepers, and her .836 save percentage is the best among league goalkeepers with at least 50 shots stopped. Wright has made at least five saves in five of her last six matches.
Lubbock Christian is 7-2-3 on the season with a 4-1-3 LSC record. They will next be on the field at 5 p.m. on Wednesday as they host Texas A&M International at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.
