History between Lubbock Christian and Wayland Baptist
The rivalry between the Lady Chaps and Pioneers began in 1991, and the squads last faced off during the 2012 season. LCU has won 50 of the 61 contests, but WBU earned the latest victory and has taken four of the final seven meetings.

Shawnee, Okla. (November 10, 2012) – The combination of 28 attack errors and eight serve reception errors spelled destruction for Lubbock Christian University, as their season came to an end in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-1 loss to Wayland Baptist University Friday evening at Noble Complex on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University. Kacey Deterding led LCU with 13 kills.  WBU was led by 13 kills from Claire Jacobsma, 12 kills from Chelsey Driskill and 11 from Shahala Hawkins. Natasha Giacomazzi registered a double-double for WBU with 17 digs and 38 assists.

Libero Kelsie French ranks fifth in total digs with 625 and is also fifth in digs per set at 6.25 while leading the Heartland Conference in both categories. The redshirt freshman from Frenship High was the Heartland Conference Libero of the Week September 14. Setter Mallory Powell is 21st in the country in total assists with 534 helpers. The redshirt sophomore from Aledo earned Heartland Conference Setter of the Week honors September 7.
As a team, the Lady Chaps are 18th-best nationally in team attacks per set with 38.79, 19th in total attacks with 2,017 and 24th in digs per set with 18.00.
Weekend sweep for Lady Chaps
Lubbock, Texas (September 26, 2015) – Lubbock Christian University volleyball earned its second sweep in as many days by defeating Midwestern State in three sets (25-11, 25-22, 25-13) Saturday afternoon inside the Rip Griffin Center. Following last night's 3-0 victory over Texas-Permian Basin, the Lady Chaparrals (7-6, 3-2 Heartland) had their best performance at the net of the season against the Mustangs (4-9, 0-2 Lone Star), hitting .283 with 37 kills and a season-low 11 errors. Emily Hanaway notched her seventh double-digit kill performance with 11, while teammates Christiana Tavo and Kacey Deterding each contributed seven. Ariel Froeschl registered five kills and five blocks. LCU held MSU to a dismal .010 attack percentage and forced 26 attack errors.
