For the second straight match, LCU was forced to a five sets.
Emily Hanaway led the Lady Chaps with her second straight double-double and her sixth of the season. However, LCU was unable to pull off a victory, as the Bulldogs won the match 3-2. The loss puts Lubbock Christian at 11-9 overall and 7-7 against non-conference opponents.
How It Happened
Set One
The first set of the match consisted of seven lead changes, which was more than the other four sets put together. Carly Zak got off to a quick start as she led SWOSU with four kills and one block. Right behind her were Jill Green, with three kills, and Paige Holt, with three kills and three blocks. The trio helped the Bulldogs capture a .314 attack percentage for the set.
Christiana Tavo collected three of her 11 kills on the evening, including one that helped LCU take a 12-11 lead. Neither team had more than a two-point lead up until this point. However, Paige Holt's first kill of the evening sparked an 11-2 run to put the Bulldogs up 22-14. An LCU attack error allowed the Bulldogs to take the first set 25-18.
Set Two
A pair of attack errors by LCU and an ace by Kaitlyn Dillon helped the Bulldogs jump out to a quick 3-0 lead.
Camille Porco helped jumpstart the Lady Chaps, racking up four aces and a kill to help LCU take the lead on a 7-0 run. Tavo played her part by tacking on four kills.
Hannah Thomas and Hanaway were not far behind as they each collected three kills. Hanaway's final kill allowed the Lady Chaps to pull off the second set victory by a score of 25-19. SWOSU's Carly Zak continued her offensive onslaught with five kills in the set.
Set Three
Lubbock Christian wasted no time picking up where they left off, despite the Bulldogs scoring the first point. LCU went on a 5-1 run to take the sets only lead change.
Emily Hanaway collected her tenth kill and ninth dig of the match. DeLayni Fine did everything she could to bring the Bulldogs back by collecting five kills for the set, but Lubbock Christian's offense proved to be too much with a .382 attack percentage for the set. Hanaway scored two of LCU's final three points to help the Lady Chaps win the set 25-18.
Set Four
With the game on the line, SWOSU scored the first point of the set from a kill by Paige Holt. This proved to be the spark that the Bulldogs needed, as they never lost their lead the rest of the set. The Bulldogs collected a .326 attack percentage, their highest of the match, while holding the Lady Chaps to a .132 attack percentage. Carly Zak added five kills and one dig for Southwestern Oklahoma. Hanaway picked up five digs to put her at her sixth double-double of the season. The Bulldogs also produced 20 digs and two blocks in the set. SWOSU went on a 6-3 run to capture the fourth set with a score of 25-18.
Set Five
Emily Hanaway had three kills to help LCU jump out to an early 4-1 lead, but the momentum would change, as Zak's 19
th kill of the evening helped the Bulldogs tie the set at 4-4. The Lady Chaps responded with a 5-2 run to regain the lead at 9-6. Following a timeout, the Bulldogs went on an 8-2 run to win the match 15-11. Zak proved to be the anchor for the Bulldogs, as she had six kills and a block to help her squad capture their third home victory of the season.

Emily Hanaway grabbed her second consecutive double-double and her fifth of the season. She had 17 kills and 15 digs on the evening.
.800 –
Cory Jo Martin had a career high .800 attack percentage for the evening with four kills, two aces, 41 assists, and 15 digs. This was her first career double-double.
4 –
Camille Porco had a career-high four aces on the evening. Porco also had six kills and two digs.
345 – Carly Zak added 24 kills, this evening, for the Bulldogs. This puts her 345 kills for the season. The Bulldogs have a team total of 930 kills for the 2016 season. Zak alone has over 37% of Southwestern Oklahoma State's kills for the season.

The Lady Chaps will continue their road trip by heading to Goodwell, Okla. They will take on the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Wednesday Oct. 19. This will be their second consecutive game on the road and their first of five straight conference match ups.
