LUBBOCK, Texas (September 13, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University plays their last Heartland Conference tune-up game Tuesday, hosting Eastern New Mexico at 6 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center. LCU seeks to improve on a 4-5 mark, playing in only their second home game of the season. Following the game, LCU will face Arkansas Fort Smith for their Heartland Conference opener on Sept. 22 in Lubbock.

- The Lady Chaps and Greyhounds are meeting for the 57th all-time meeting. ENMU leads the all-time series 32-24, claiming the prior meeting 3-2 on Sept. 3, 2015 in Canyon, Texas.
- ENMU is a member of the Lone Star Conference, where they are preseason picked ninth in the conference. They return 13 members from last season.
- The Greyhounds (formerly Zias) are 4-4 on the season and went 1-3 at the TexAnn Invitational, which is the same tournament LCU participated in.
- All eight matches ENMU has played in have been neutral site games. They have yet to play at home and Tuesday marks their first true road contest.
- ENMU ranks seventh nationally and second in the LSC in assists with 425.
LCU NOTES
- The Lady Chaps (4-5 overall) take a 1-0 home record into the contest.
- LCU heads into the week after going 2-3 last week, including a 1-3 mark at the TexAnn Invitational.
- LCU leads the Heartland Conference in blocks with 72 (13th nationally) for a mark of 2.2 per set (40th nationally). Individually, Ariel Froeschl (fifth, 0.9 per set), Emily Hanaway (sixth, 0.8) and Christiana Tavo (seventh, 0.7 per set) rank in the top-10 in the conference.
- Mallory Powell leads the conference in assists (301, 43rd nationally) and is second in assists per set at 9.1 per set.
- Kelsie French ranks 19th nationally with 169 total digs.
- Hanaway was named Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week. Of LCU's 206 kills on the week, 68 came from Hanaway, who took over as the primary offensive threat after 2014 Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year Channing Castleberry went down with an injury. She produced 3.8 kills per set and had a .239 hitting percentage during the week. She posted a career-high 23 kills in a thrilling 3-2 loss to tournament host Tarleton State.
- Castleberry suffered a season-ending leg injury Tuesday against Southwestern Oklahoma State. She led the team in kills with 54 in five matches played at the time of her injury. It marks the second consecutive season she has suffered a season ending injury.
