Lubbock Christian University continues their three-game homestand, which opened with a 3-1 win over No.15 Angelo State on Oct. 22, hosting Texas Woman's University Friday (6 p.m.) and Midwestern State Saturday (2 p.m.) inside Rip Griffin Center for a pair of non-divisional Lone Star Conference matches. LCU has concluded division play (5-5) and joins Angelo State as the only LSC programs that has played all 10 division games. The Lady Chaps have clinched a berth to the 12-team field of the Lone Star Conference Championships, but currently sit in fourth place within their division. They would need Texas – Permian Basin to lose their final two division contests to finish in third place of their division. The Lady Chaps have six regular season games remaining and all are Lone Star Conference matches.

- TWU owns a 4-2 all-time series advantage. The two traded off attending each other's tournament in 2016 and 2017, with LCU winning 3-1 in Denton (Sept. 3, 2016) and TWU winning in Lubbock 3-0 on Sept. 8, 2017, which is the previous meeting between the two programs. The pair of tournament matches were the first meetings between the two programs since the 1988 season, and they also mark the only home/road matches in the all-time series (the first four meetings were neutral site games.
- TWU is preseason picked to finish seventh in the Lone Star Conference. They went 18-13 overall last season, finishing tied for fifth in the LSC with a 10-10 conference mark. They are 12-10 this season and riding a three-match win streak. They are 8-4 in conference play this season and 5-1 in non-divisional conference matches. They are 4-4 on the road this season.
- The Pioneers lead the conference and rank 16
th nationally in blocks per set at a rate of 2.3 per set. They are 21
st nationally with 198 total blocks. Trixie Oche leads the conference and ranks 16
th nationally with 1.25 blocks per set and is the third LSC player to reach 100 total blocks this season.
- TWU is fourth in the LSC with 120 aces served this season, but they have 184 serving errors on the season. Katy Ranes leads TWU with 28 aces, ranking sixth in the LSC.
- Bailey French compliments the TWU defense, behind the blocking line, with 4.7 digs per set (third in the LSC) and has 396 digs on the season (fourth in the LSC).
LADY CHAP NOTES
- The Lady Chaps head into the contest with an 11-10 record, looking to extend their home and overall win streak to three matches. They are 5-7 in conference matches and finished with a 5-5 record in divisional play. They have six conference (all non-divisional) matches remaining.
-LCU leads the LSC in attacks per set (38.4), ranking 30
th nationally. Their total attacks mark of 3,185 attack attempts ranks fourth in the conference (65
th nationally).
Hannah Thomas has received much of the effort, totaling 773 attacks (second in the conference) and averaging 9.9 attacks per set (ranks fourth in the conference). She ranks tied for 16
th in the LSC in kills (211).
- Lubbock Christian has served up 117 aces in their 21 matches this season (sixth in the LSC).
Maddie DeGuire leads the team in aces with 33, which co-leads the conference and is 67
th nationally. She leads the conference with a pace of 0.4 per set.
Hannah Thomas (25 and tied for 11
th) and
Bradi Marshall (23 and tied for 13
th) have also been an impact from the service line.
- Marshall ranks second in the LSC in assists per set with a rate of 9.6, ranking 66
th nationally. She leads the LSC in total assists with 795 (53
rd nationally). She is coming off her 32
nd career double-double against Angelo State (15
th of the season).
- LCU's right-side hitter
Avery Moore has been solid for the Lady Chaps since conference play began, ranking third in the LSC with 144 kills in conference contests, with a pace of 3.1 per set (12th in conference). The right-side hitter has a .243 attack percentage in those contests. Moore is second in the LSC in conference attacks with 395, behind teammate
Hannah Thomas (418).

Maddie DeGuire ranks fifth in the conference in total digs (384) and is fourth in digs per set (4.6). Her mark of 223 digs in conference play is third in the LSC (third with a pace of 4.7 per set in conference).

Morgan Schwarz has shown a mix of offense and defense in conference play, averaging 1.94 kills per set on a .286 attack percentage and 0.8 blocks per set (38.0 blocks in conference play). Her .286 attack percentage in conference play ranks 15th in the LSC and she ranks 10
th in the LSC with 71 blocks overall this season. She is coming off a 13.5-point and 7-block performance in the win over ASU, leading to her claiming LCU's first LSC weekly honor by claiming LSC Defensive Player of the Week. The senior had eight kills and seven blocks, with a career-high four solo blocks. The four solos are the most by a Lady Chap since
Jaiden Kennedy registered four against Texas A&M International on Sept. 30, 2017. It is the fourth time since 2008 in which a Lady Chap has produced at least four solo blocks in a match. The match also marked the fifth time this season LCU has held an opponent to hit less than .100.
- LCU opponents have been called for 71 ball handling errors this season (26 have been called against LCU).

Mandy Polk has been promoted from interim head coach to head coach, officially marking her as the sixth head coach in program history. LCU has a 2-1 record since the announcement.
