Lubbock Christian University closes their three-game homestand seeking their fourth straight win, as they host Midwestern State Saturday (2 p.m.) inside Rip Griffin Center for a non-divisional Lone Star Conference matches. LCU has concluded division play (5-5) and joins Angelo State as the only LSC programs that has played all 10 division games. The Lady Chaps have clinched a berth to the 12-team field of the Lone Star Conference Championships, but currently sit in fourth place within their division. They would need Texas – Permian Basin to lose their final two division contests to finish in third place of their division. The Lady Chaps have five regular season games remaining and all are Lone Star Conference matches.
MIDWESTERN STATE | Nov. 2 | 2 p.m.
- LCU and Wichita Falls, Texas based Midwestern State are scheduled for their 46
th all-time meeting, as LCU holds a 28-17 all-time series lead. The Lady Chaps have won 12 of the prior 15 meetings, but MSU defeated LCU 3-1 in their prior meeting (Oct. 10, 2017 in Wichita Falls). LCU has won the prior three matches in Lubbock and holds a 10-7 advantage in the all-time meetings in Lubbock. The previous meeting in Lubbock was Sept. 26, 2015, resulting in a 3-0 LCU win.
- MSU is preseason picked to finish 16th in the Lone Star Conference. They went 5-23 overall last season, finishing 10
th in the LSC with a 3-17 conference mark. They are 7-16 this season and sit fourth in their division with a 2-4 mark. They are 4-9 in conference play this season and 2-5 in non-divisional conference matches. They are 1-8 on the road this season.
- The Mustangs opened the week Friday in San Angelo, Texas, where they dropped a 3-0 decision to No.18 Angelo State. The Belles held MSU to a .000 hitting percentage on the night.
- MSU ranks 71
st nationally in total blocks with 167. Sarah Eakin heads into Saturday's play sixth in the conference with 82 blocks on the season.
- Eakin also ranks eighth in the conference in hitting (.322) and is 17
th in points per set (3.2).
LADY CHAP NOTES
- The Lady Chaps head into the contest with an 12-10 record, looking to extend their home and overall win streak to four matches. They are 6-7 in conference matches and finished with a 5-5 record in divisional play. They have five conference (all non-divisional) matches remaining.
-LCU leads the LSC in attacks per set (38.2), ranking 30
th nationally. Their total attacks mark of 3,364 attack attempts ranks third in the conference (65
th nationally).
Hannah Thomas has received much of the effort, totaling 814 attacks (second in the conference) and averaging 9.8 attacks per set (ranks fourth in the conference). She ranks tied for 14
th in the LSC in kills (226).
- Lubbock Christian has served up 123 aces in their 22 matches this season (tied for fifth in the LSC).
Maddie DeGuire leads the team in aces with 34, which leads the conference and is 67
th nationally. She leads the conference with a pace of 0.4 per set.
Hannah Thomas (25 and in 12

Bradi Marshall (24 and tied for 13
th) have also been an impact from the service line.
- Marshall ranks second in the LSC in assists per set with a rate of 9.6, ranking 66
th nationally. She leads the LSC in total assists with 848 (53
rd nationally). She is coming off her 33
rd career double-double against Midwestern State (16
th of the season), in a match she posted a season-high 55 assists.
- LCU's right-side hitter
Avery Moore has been solid for the Lady Chaps since conference play began, ranking third in the LSC with 155 kills in conference contests, with a pace of 2.98 per set (12th in conference). The right-side hitter has a .241 attack percentage in those contests. Moore is second in the LSC in conference attacks with 428, behind teammate
Hannah Thomas (459).

Maddie DeGuire ranks fifth in the conference in total digs (405) and is fourth in digs per set (4.6). Her mark of 245 digs in conference play is third in the LSC (fourth with a pace of 4.7 per set in conference).

Morgan Schwarz has shown a mix of offense and defense in conference play, averaging 1.96 kills per set on a .303 attack percentage and 0.7 blocks per set (38.0 blocks in conference play). Her .303 attack percentage in conference play ranks 12th in the LSC and she ranks 11
th in the LSC with 71 blocks overall this season. On Oct. 22, she posted a 13.5-point and 7-block performance in their win over ASU, leading to her claiming LCU's first LSC weekly honor by claiming LSC Defensive Player of the Week. The senior had eight kills and seven blocks, with a career-high four solo blocks. The four solos are the most by a Lady Chap since
Jaiden Kennedy registered four against Texas A&M International on Sept. 30, 2017. It is the fourth time since 2008 in which a Lady Chap has produced at least four solo blocks in a match. The match also marked the fifth time this season LCU has held an opponent to hit less than .100.
- LCU opponents have been called for 75 ball handling errors this season (30 have been called against LCU).

Mandy Polk has been promoted from interim head coach to head coach, officially marking her as the sixth head coach in program history. LCU has a 3-1 record since the announcement.
