LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian University volleyball (15-4, 7-0 LSC) enters Saturday's play riding an 11-match win streak, its longest since a 12-match tear in 2018. The Lady Chaps have opened Lone Star Conference play 7-0 for their best in their NCAA era and the best since they opened Sooner Athletic Conference play 12-0 in 2009. They head out on the road with a 5-1 road record and winners of five straight road tilts. LCU is the only remaining unbeaten team in conference play.
» Lubbock Christian continues to pace the Lone Star Conference offensively, leading the league in kills per set (13.75) and assists per set (13.03) — ranking No. 24 and No. 14 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also rank second in the LSC and 15th nationally in digs per set (18.21).
» The Lady Chaps lead the conference in total kills (976), assists (925), digs (1,293), and total attacks (2,730) — all ranking inside the top 15 nationally. Their .221 hitting percentage stands 5th in the LSC, while their .149 opponent hitting percentage ranks 4th. On Oct. 7, LCU held ENMU to a -.078 attack percentage — the lowest by an opponent since 2016 — marking their first opponent in negative territory since 2018.
» Freshman setter
Camdyn Sears continues to orchestrate one of the nation's most balanced offenses. She leads the LSC and ranks No. 14 nationally in total assists (681) and is 2nd in the LSC (31st nationally) in assists per set (9.87). Sears has produced 11 double-doubles this season, including a career-high 54 assists and 23 digs against Western New Mexico.
» Senior outside hitter
Lily Bickley reached a career milestone Friday, surpassing 1,000 career kills — becoming just the third player in LCU's rally-scoring era (since 2008) to do so and the first since 2015 (Maddie Johnson & Kasey Deterding). She ranks 7th in the LSC in total kills (200) and 8th in total blocks (51) while hitting .317 (8th LSC, 109th nationally). Her 3.36 points per set rank 14th in the LSC, and she sits 35th among active Division II players in career kills.
» Libero
Abby Dominguez anchors the defense with elite consistency, ranking 3rd in the LSC and 45th nationally with 4.87 digs per set, while her 346 total digs stand 2nd in the LSC and 19th nationally. She has tallied seven 20+ dig matches this season.
» Freshman outside hitter
Emilee Sikora has emerged as a dynamic offensive presence, producing 10 double-figure kill performances and ranking 13th in the LSC in kills per set (3.00) and 16th in points per set (3.31). She recorded a career-high 18 kills Saturday vs. Oklahoma Christian — matching the team-high for a four-set match this season.
» Middle blocker
Bryleigh Schweer continues to impact both ends of the floor, ranking 9th in the LSC in hitting percentage (.312) and 7th in total blocks (56, 0.90/set). She has logged five double-figure kill matches this season and matched the LCU season-high with 7.0 blocks twice (vs. UTPB and Cameron).
» Team defense remains a calling card. LCU has out-dug opponents in 15 of 19 matches and is 15–0 when winning the dig battle this season.
» Nationally, LCU ranks among the top 15 in total assists (2nd), total kills (4th), total digs (11th), and total attacks (13th), while sitting top 25 nationally in both assists per set and kills per set.
LOOKING AT UTT
- The Lady Chaps and UT Tyler opened their all-time series during the 2019 season in Tyler, Texas, where the Patriots topped LCU 3-1 on Oct. 4, 2019. UTT leads the all-time series 6-0, winning all six meetings, including the previous contest 3-2 Nov. 15, 2024 in Lubbock. LCU is 0-2 all-time in Tyler against the Patriots (a 3-0 UTT win on Sept. 24, 2022 was the last match played in Tyler).
- UT Tyler enters the week at 9–7 overall and 5–1 in Lone Star Conference play, good for a tie for third place in the league standings. The Patriots opened the season with a rocky non-conference stretch, dropping six of their first nine matches, but have since found rhythm in LSC play behind a balanced attack and home-court success inside Louise Herrington Patriot Center. UT Tyler has won five of its last six conference outings, including sweeps over Cameron, Oklahoma Christian, and UT Dallas, and a road victory at UT Permian Basin. Their lone LSC loss came Saturday at Angelo State, snapping a five-match win streak. UT Tyler holds a 4-3 home record on the season.
- UT Tyler enters the weekend with one of the league's most active and balanced offenses, ranking fourth in the Lone Star Conference in kills per set (13.18) and fifth in assists per set (12.25). The Patriots also pace the entire conference in total attacks per set (38.62), ranking No. 20 nationally. Outside hitters Autumn Perry and Kota Hartman headline the front line, combining for over six kills per set. Perry ranks 10th in the LSC with 3.23 kills per set and sits 13th in points per set (3.57), while Hartman adds 2.96 kills per frame. Setter Saige Rivera efficiently directs the offense, ranking fifth in the league and 88th nationally with 8.11 assists per set, while her 446 total assists rank fourth among all LSC setters.
- Defensively, UT Tyler ranks fifth in the LSC and 52nd nationally in digs per set (16.85), showing solid back-row consistency anchored by Anna Arceneaux, who ranks eighth in the league with 4.18 digs per set. At the net, Audrey Brandon leads the blocking effort with 0.80 blocks per set, helping the Patriots post 101 total team blocks this year. Despite the defensive balance, UT Tyler's biggest strength has been their ability to extend rallies — opponents are hitting just .185 against the Patriots, the 10th-best mark in the LSC, underscoring a scrappy, grind-it-out defensive identity.
- The Patriots' serving and all-around versatility continue to make them a tough matchup. As a team, UT Tyler averages 1.58 aces per set, ranking ninth in the LSC, led by Emma Vazquez (0.41 aces/set, 22 total) and Kaitlyn Davis (0.40 aces/set). Both rank among the league's top dozen servers. The Patriots' deep rotation — with multiple players averaging over two kills per set — gives them flexibility in extended matches, as reflected in their five-set win over Angelo State at the LSC Crossover and three consecutive home sweeps in LSC play.
