RICHARDSON, Texas (October 7, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University sophomore outside hitter
Jade Workman has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office. It marks the first career LSC weekly honor for the Odessa, Texas native.
Workman powered LCU to a perfect 2–0 road weekend, ranking No. 4 in the conference in hitting percentage (.449) and No. 10 in kills per set (3.50) among all players during the week. She totaled 28 kills on just 49 swings with only six errors across eight sets, leading the Lady Chaps in both victories. Workman hit .571 at St. Mary's—the second-highest mark in the LSC for the week and the 12th-best single-match hitting percentage in LCU's current rally-scoring era—before following with 14 kills on .357 hitting in a four-set win at St. Edward's.
Her standout performance helped LCU extend its win streak to eight straight, its longest since 2018, while remaining unbeaten in conference play (4–0).
Workman becomes the fourth LCU player to claim an LSC weekly honor this season, joining
Camdyn Sears, who has earned two Freshman of the Week selections (Sept. 9 and Sept. 30) and one Setter of the Week nod (Sept. 23). She is LCU's first Offensive Player of the Week recipient since
Kiana Fallaha on Sept. 12, 2023, and the program's third in the category since 2021 (Sage Chain, Nov. 9, 2021).
The Lady Chaps (12–4, 4–0 LSC) return to action Tuesday night at Eastern New Mexico, looking to extend their winning streak to nine matches. First serve is set for 7 p.m. (CT) inside Greyhound Arena in Portales, N.M.
