DENVER, Colo. (November 26, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University volleyball is headed to the NCAA postseason for the first time in program history, earning the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional as announced during Monday night's national selection show. The Lady Chaps, coming off a runner-up finish at the Lone Star Conference Championship, will open regional play on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 2:30 p.m. CT against familiar foe and No. 3 seed Angelo State inside Metropolitan State University of Denver's Auraria Events Center. The appearance places LCU in the eight-team, single-elimination regional field running Dec. 4–6, marking a historic milestone for the rapidly ascending program.
 
Lubbock Christian (25-7 overall) put together one of the most complete conference seasons in program history, rolling to a 15–2 Lone Star Conference mark and earning a share of the regular-season championship. The Lady Chaps opened league play with immediate momentum, sweeping Sul Ross State and following with a five-set win over Western New Mexico to start 2–0 at home. Their first major statement came on the road, where they swept through a four-match trip with wins at St. Mary's, St. Edward's, Eastern New Mexico and UT Tyler, dropping only two sets across the stretch.
 
LCU's balance showed throughout October, taking care of Cameron, Oklahoma Christian, UT Dallas, Texas A&M International and Texas A&M–Kingsville to surge to 11–0 in conference. Their first stumble came in a five-set battle at West Texas A&M, but the Lady Chaps rebounded with a clutch home week, outlasting Texas Woman's in five and defeating Dallas Baptist and UT Permian Basin.
 
The regular season closed with a split—a loss to co-champion Angelo State, followed by a dramatic 3–2 victory over Midwestern State on Senior Night to clinch a share of the title. LCU's 15 conference wins are a program single-season record and the conference regular season title was their 14^th overall in program history and their first in the LSC.
 
At the LSC Championships, LCU delivered a historic run, riding a five-set marathon win over Oklahoma Christian, a dominant sweep of Texas Woman's, and a gritty finals battle with top-seed Angelo State. The Lady Chaps opened the tournament with a record-setting offensive performance—81 kills, 272 swings, and four players with 20-plus digs—to outlast OC 19–17 in the fifth. They followed with a clinical 3–0 semifinal sweep of TWU, powered by Emilee Sikora's 12 kills and another double-double from setter Camdyn Sears. In Saturday's title match, LCU pushed Angelo State in all three sets but fell 25–19, 25–20, 25–22 despite double-figure kills from Payton Murray and Sikora.

The Lady Chaps are in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II South Central Region for the first time in program history. LCU's prior trip to a national tournament event was in 2010, as LCU qualified for the NAIA Volleyball Championships in Sioux City, Iowa.
 
Angelo State enters the NCAA Tournament at 24–7 after a dominant 2025 campaign that produced a share of the Lone Star Conference regular-season title and the program's 12th LSC Championship. The Rambelles went 15–2 in league play, remained unbeaten at home inside the Junell Center, and closed the regular season on a six-match win streak with marquee victories over West Texas A&M, UT Tyler and Lubbock Christian. ASU collected nine All-LSC honors, headlined by junior outside hitter and two-time LSC Player of the Year Madi Parrish, who also repeated as LSC Tournament MVP—becoming just the third player in conference history to win the award in back-to-back seasons. Fellow All-American Demi Carter powered a late-season surge after returning from injury, while Julia Hopkins, Ireland Ferguson and Cate Boldrick anchored a deep and balanced lineup. The Belles swept through the LSC Tournament—stifling Texas A&M–Kingsville in the quarterfinals, outlasting UT Tyler in the semifinals, and defeating Lubbock Christian 3–0 in the championship behind 28 combined kills from Parrish and Hopkins and a suffocating 10-block effort. The win secured ASU's 17th NCAA Tournament berth and extended their active win streak to 11 straight entering the regional.
 
LCU and Angelo State are meeting for the 38^th time all-time. ASU is 2-0 against LCU this season after a pair of 3-0 wins. ASU, who had a nine-match win streak early in the all-time series, has won the prior 11 meetings and leads the all-time series 28-9. Seven of the last nine meetings have been played in San Angelo, where the Belles are 15-5 against LCU. This meeting in Denver, which marks consecutive postseason meetings, will mark the third-ever postseason meeting between the two programs. Their postseason history is tied 1-1, as LCU won an Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW, which governed women's athletics prior to the NCAA in 1981) postseason meeting 2-0 in a AIAW State Tournament game Nov. 2, 1979 in Abilene, Texas, and ASU won their first postseason meeting since on Saturday in San Angelo.
 
Lubbock Christian and Angelo State met twice in November with the Rambelles sweeping both matchups. ASU opened the first meeting in Lubbock on Nov. 8 with a 3–0 win (25–23, 25–10, 25–16), riding dominant performances from Madi Parrish (17 kills, 15 digs) and Julia Hopkins (15 kills). The Rambelles controlled the match at the net and ended LCU's nine-match home win streak, while libero Abby Dominguez reached the 500-dig milestone for the Lady Chaps. In the rematch 14 days later, the stakes rose as the programs met in the Lone Star Conference Championship final. Angelo State again prevailed 3–0 (25–19, 25–20, 25–22), repeating as tournament champions and extending its series win streak to 10 straight over LCU. Parrish (16 kills) and Hopkins (12) led another efficient outing as ASU out-blocked LCU 10–6 and remained unbeaten at home. Despite strong efforts from Payton Murray (12 kills) and freshman Emilee Sikora (11), LCU was unable to overcome ASU's balance and postseason experience.

The winner of the event will be named the South Central Region champion and will advance to the 2025 NCAA Division II Championship final site in Sioux Falls, S.D. The national quarterfinals, semifinals and championship match are scheduled for Dec. 11-13 at Sanford Pentagon.
