(October 2, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University ventures to the Sooner State for Lone Star Conference play this week, opening a two-match Oklahoma road swing Friday with a 6 p.m. contest against Cameron in Lawton before heading north to Oklahoma City for a 2 p.m. matchup against Oklahoma Christian Saturday.

LADY CHAP NOTES
- LCU returns to the road for a pair of Lone Star Conference matches in Oklahoma, facing Cameron on Friday in Lawton before traveling to Oklahoma City for a Saturday matchup with Oklahoma Christian. The Lady Chaparrals enter the weekend 7-8 overall and 3-2 in LSC play after closing their season-opening three-match homestand with a 3-1 loss to Eastern New Mexico. LCU went 2-1 during the homestand, defeating St. Mary's and St. Edward's before Tuesday's setback, and enters the weekend tied with Western New Mexico and Midwestern State at 3-2 in conference play.
- LCU has been significantly more productive offensively in Lone Star Conference play than its overall season numbers indicate. Through five league matches, the Lady Chaps are hitting .238 and averaging 13.00 kills, 11.24 assists and 2.12 service aces per set while holding conference opponents to a .179 attack percentage. LCU owns advantages of 221-200 in kills and 36-24 in service aces against LSC opponents.
Camryn Blair is averaging 3.24 kills per set in conference action, while
Kayson Reeves is at 2.41 and
Aubree Lundberg at 1.88.
- True road matches have provided a challenge for LCU, which enters the weekend 1-4 away from home. The Lady Chaps are hitting .132 in 16 road sets while opponents have hit .262, with LCU averaging 11.06 kills compared with 12.81 by its hosts. Opponents also hold advantages of 2.00-1.31 in service aces and 2.00-1.38 in blocks per set. LCU's lone road victory came in its conference opener at Sul Ross State, where the Lady Chaps swept the Lobos 25-11, 25-22, 25-17.
- Tuesday's loss to Eastern New Mexico featured one of the strongest individual performances of
Aubree Lundberg's career. The sophomore middle blocker established a career high with 16 kills, reaching double figures for the first time collegiately, while hitting .423 and adding three blocks for 17.5 points. Lundberg has been particularly efficient in conference play, hitting .442 with 30 kills on 52 attacks. She now has 63 kills on the season while hitting .267 overall.

Kayson Reeves continues to make an immediate impact during her freshman season. Reeves matched her career high with 12 kills against Eastern New Mexico for her third double-figure kill performance and added three blocks. She enters the Oklahoma swing with 108 kills while hitting a team-best .295 among LCU regular attackers and leads the Lady Chaps with 43 total blocks. Reeves is averaging 0.88 blocks per set overall and has 41 kills and 13 blocks through five conference matches.

Camryn Blair remains LCU's leading attacker with 139 kills and 159.0 points through 15 matches. She recorded 10 kills against Eastern New Mexico for her seventh double-figure performance of the season and 13th of her LCU career. Blair averages 3.02 kills per set overall and 3.24 in conference play, where she is hitting .264. Her 55 kills are the most by a Lady Chap through the first five LSC matches.

Camdyn Sears enters the weekend having surpassed 400 assists for the season. The sophomore setter has 402 assists and averages 8.20 per set, ranking fourth in the LSC, while also contributing 143 digs and 44 kills on a .262 attack percentage. Sears has seven double-doubles this season and 30 during her LCU career. In conference play, she is averaging 8.88 assists per set while hitting .340 with 18 kills.
- LCU's service game continues to be one of its stronger areas. The Lady Chaps have 83 aces and average 1.69 per set overall, ranking seventh in the LSC in aces per set. Conference play has seen that rate increase to 2.12 per set, with LCU holding a 36-24 advantage over league opponents.
Ramsey Clark leads the Lady Chaps with 16 aces overall, while
Leigh Jespersen has 15 and
Haley Wheeler has 11. Wheeler has seven aces in conference play, while Clark has eight.
- Tuesday's match against Eastern New Mexico was one of LCU's tightest of the season, featuring 28 ties, including 18 in the fourth set. LCU won the opening frame 25-23 before falling 25-23, 25-22 and 26-24. The Lady Chaps matched their season high with 53 kills, led by Lundberg's 16, Reeves' 12 and Blair's 10, but the loss marked LCU's first defeat this season after winning the opening set, moving the Lady Chaps to 7-1 in those situations.
- Through 15 matches, LCU is averaging 11.65 kills, 10.37 assists, 14.16 digs, 1.69 service aces and 1.84 blocks per set while hitting .172. The Lady Chaps rank seventh in the LSC in both aces and blocks per set. Individually, Sears ranks fourth in the conference in assists per set, Reeves ranks 10th in blocks per set and Blair ranks 10th in points per set. LCU enters the Oklahoma swing looking to build on a 3-2 start to conference play after going 15-2 in the LSC last season.
LOOKING AT CU
- LCU and the Aggies have met 10 prior times, with LCU holding a 7-3 edge in the series. The first five meetings of the all-time series were at neutral sites. The two squads are meeting in Lawton for the first time since Oct. 22, 2022 (LCU won 3-0), as LCU is 2-0 all-time in Lawton against Cameron (LCU is 6-0 in sets played in Lawton).
- Cameron enters Friday's match at 1-14 overall and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play after dropping its last two matches. The Aggies earned their first win of the season with a five-set road victory at UT Permian Basin on Sept. 25, then pushed Angelo State to five sets the following day before falling. Cameron closed its three-match road swing Tuesday with a 3-0 loss at Southwestern Oklahoma State and returns to Aggie Gym still seeking its first home victory of the season at 0-7.
- Senior right-side Maria Osorio leads the Cameron offense with 127 kills and averages 2.76 per set. She also carries a heavy workload with 418 total attacks, ranking seventh in the LSC in attacks per set. Caitlyn Cornell has added 85 kills while hitting a team-best .248 among regular attackers and leads Cameron with 27 total blocks, while Presleigh Roest has 54 kills and 21 blocks. In Tuesday's loss at SWOSU, Cornell and Roest each finished with seven kills, with Cornell hitting .600 on 10 attempts.
- Cameron has used multiple setters this season, with Mavery Salisbury leading the team with 209 assists and averaging 3.94 per set, while Sydney Walker has 131 assists at 4.85 per set and Leticia Costa has 62. The Aggies are averaging 9.37 kills and 8.80 assists per set while hitting .109 as a team. Those marks rank 17th in the LSC in both kills and assists per set and 18th in hitting percentage.
- Defensively, Cameron has received strong back-row production despite its overall record. Senior libero Addison McClure, a Lubbock native, leads the Aggies with 168 digs and averages 3.50 per set, while freshman Madison Waiki has 106 digs at 4.08 per set and Anastasija Andelic has 102. Cameron averages 15.35 digs per set, ranking eighth in the LSC, but opponents are averaging 13.67 kills and hitting .219. The Aggies have also struggled in the service game, averaging 1.02 aces per set while allowing 2.07
