LCU Looks To Extend Home Winning Streak And Make It Three Straight Against Eastern New Mexico

LUBBOCK, Texas (September 29, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University looks to continue their hot play at home Tuesday, as they close out their home-opening three-match homestand with a 6 p.m. Lone Star Conference match against Eastern New Mexico inside Rip Griffin Center.

LADY CHAP NOTES
- The Lady Chaparrals enter at 7-7 overall and 3-1 in Lone Star Conference play after sweeping their opening home weekend with victories over St. Mary's and St. Edward's. LCU has won consecutive matches for the first time since opening the season 3-0 and currently sits fourth in the LSC standings behind unbeaten Angelo State, DBU and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
- LCU has made Rip Griffin Center an immediate advantage after playing its first 12 matches away from home. The Lady Chaps are 2-0 at The Rip after defeating St. Mary's 3-1 and St. Edward's 3-0. In seven home sets, LCU is hitting .274 while holding opponents to a .131 attack percentage. The Lady Chaps are averaging 12.29 kills, 10.00 assists, 3.14 service aces and 2.57 blocks per set at home while owning a 22-10 advantage in aces and an 18-14 edge in total blocks.
 
- Through four Lone Star Conference matches, LCU is 3-1 while hitting .253 and holding conference opponents to a .169 attack percentage. The Lady Chaps are averaging 12.92 kills, 11.23 assists, 14.54 digs, 2.54 service aces and 1.69 blocks per set in league play. LCU has also outscored conference opponents 223-187 in total points and owns a 33-18 advantage in service aces. Camryn Blair is averaging 3.46 kills per set in LSC action, while Camdyn Sears is averaging 8.69 assists and 3.08 digs per set
 
- Saturday's sweep of St. Edward's produced one of LCU's most dominant defensive performances of the season. The Lady Chaps recorded 14 total blocks and 10 service aces, marking the first time in the rally-scoring era, dating to 2008, that LCU reached double figures in both categories in the same match. St. Edward's was held to 17 kills and a -.095 attack percentage, the lowest hitting mark by an LCU opponent since Texas A&M International hit -.102 on Oct. 1, 2016.
 
-  LCU's serving has surged since returning home. The Lady Chaps followed a season-high 12 aces against St. Mary's with 10 against St. Edward's, giving them 22 aces over their first seven home sets. It marked the first time since September 2018 that LCU recorded at least 10 aces in consecutive matches. Haley Wheeler has seven aces during the homestand after entering the weekend with four all season, while Ramsey Clark has six home aces and Lauren Hanson has two.
 
- Camdyn Sears recorded her seventh double-double of the season and 30th of her LCU career against St. Edward's, finishing with 18 assists and 10 digs while adding six kills on eight attacks. Sears has recorded double-doubles in six of LCU's last eight matches. She enters Tuesday with 364 assists and 137 digs, averaging 8.09 assists and 3.04 digs per set, and ranks fourth in the LSC in assists per set.
 
- Camryn Blair continues to lead LCU offensively with 129 kills and 147.5 points. She is averaging 3.07 kills per set and 3.51 points per set, ranking 13th and 10th in the LSC, respectively. Blair hit .462 with eight kills in the sweep of St. Edward's and is hitting .326 through four conference matches while averaging 3.46 kills per set. At home, Blair has been even more efficient, hitting .429 with 24 kills over seven sets.
 
- Freshman Kayson Reeves remains LCU's leading blocker with 40 total blocks while averaging 0.89 per set, ranking ninth in the LSC. Reeves has 96 kills and is hitting .281 overall, while producing 29 kills and 10 blocks through four conference matches. She recorded five kills and five blocks against St. Edward's after posting a career-high 12 kills against St. Mary's the previous night.
 
- Tatum Fleitman turned in a career performance at the net against St. Edward's, recording eight blocks, including four solo, to surpass her previous career high of seven. Fleitman now has 27 total blocks and 68 kills while hitting .261. In conference play, she is hitting .269 with 26 kills and 10 blocks, while her nine blocks over LCU's first two home matches trail only Reeves' eight among the Lady Chap front row during the homestand.
 
- Through 14 matches, LCU is averaging 11.51 kills, 10.29 assists, 14.18 digs, 1.78 service aces and 1.87 blocks per set while hitting .170. The Lady Chaps rank seventh in the LSC in both aces and blocks per set. Individually, Sears ranks fourth in assists per set, Reeves is ninth in blocks per set and Blair ranks 10th in points per set. LCU has also lowered its opponents' season hitting percentage to .197 after holding St. Edward's below zero Saturday.
 
LOOKING AT ENMU
- LCU and Eastern New Mexico meet for the 69th time in their all-time series, with LCU and ENMU knotted up with an even 34-34 record. LCU secured a 3-0 win in their last meeting on Oct. 7, 2025 (in Portales), marking their third consecutive straight-set win (against ENMU) and 10 wins in a 12-match stretch in the series. LCU is 19-11 all-time at home against ENMU (six straight home wins over ENMU in the series).
 
-  Eastern New Mexico enters Tuesday's match at 4-10 overall and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play after dropping three straight matches. The Greyhounds opened league play with a 3-0 home win over Texas A&M International, then fell in five sets to Texas A&M-Kingsville before losing road matches at Texas Woman's and DBU. ENMU is 1-4 in true road matches this season and comes to Lubbock after a straight-set loss at DBU on Saturday.
 
- Senior Sophia Valdez is the focal point of the Eastern New Mexico offense, leading the Greyhounds with 200 kills and averaging 3.51 per set. She ranks fifth in the LSC in kills per set and sixth in points per set at 3.75. Valdez has also taken 581 attacks, the second-highest total in the conference. Amya Speller provides another major attacking option with 157 kills at 2.75 per set while hitting .271, and Aaliyah Butler has added 102 kills.
 
- Freshman setter Sydney Pipkin directs the ENMU offense with 456 assists and averages 8.00 per set, ranking fifth in the LSC. Pipkin also contributes 68 kills, 132 digs, 16 blocks and 15 service aces. The Greyhounds average 12.56 kills and 10.96 assists per set while hitting .176 as a team. Their offensive volume is notable, with ENMU ranking fourth in the conference in total kills, third in total attacks and eighth in total assists.
 
- Defensively, Jordan Garcia leads Eastern New Mexico with 151 digs and averages 3.68 per set while also owning a team-high 18 service aces. Speller leads the front row with 37 total blocks, including 13 solo blocks, while Natalie Ceniceros has 19 and Pipkin 16. As a team, ENMU averages 14.21 digs, 1.65 aces and 1.35 blocks per set. The Greyhounds were held to 27 kills and a .077 attack percentage in their latest loss at DBU, while the Patriots hit .427 in the sweep.
