LCU Puts 10-Match Win Streak and Unbeaten Lone Star Conference Record to the Test Saturday at Rip Griffin Center

LUBBOCK, Texas (October 11, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University looks to keep its momentum rolling Saturday afternoon, putting a 10-match win streak and perfect 6-0 Lone Star Conference record on the line as the Lady Chaps host Oklahoma Christian at 2 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center. The matchup is a rematch of LCU's sweep over the Eagles in September, a result that avenged last year's straight-set home loss to OC.

LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian University volleyball (13-4, 5-0 LSC) enters Saturday's play riding a 10-match win streak, its longest since a 12-match tear in 2018. The Lady Chaps have opened Lone Star Conference play 6-0 for the first time since starting 6-0 in 2021, following Friday's 3-1 home victory over Cameron, which moved them to 6-2 at home (five-match win streak at home).  LCU is the only 6-0 team in the LSC (conference record) and joins UT Tyler (5-0) as the two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play.

» LCU continues to pace the LSC offensively, leading the league in kills per set (13.94) and assists per set (13.2) — ranking No. 26 and No. 15 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also sit No. 2 in the LSC and No. 12 nationally in digs per set (18.39).

» The Lady Chaps top the conference in total kills (894), total assists (845), team digs (1,177), and total attacks (2,509) — all ranking among the nation's top 10. Their .218 hitting percentage ranks sixth in the LSC and 66th nationally, while their .162 opponent hitting percentage is fifth-best in the LSC and 62nd nationally. Tuesday, LCU held ENMU to a -.078 attack percentage. It marked the first time the Lady Chaps have held an opposing team in the negative since Sept. 29, 2018 (-.071 vs. Texas A&M Int'l), and the -.078 is the worst hitting mark by an LCU opponent since they held TAMIU to a -.102 on Oct. 1, 2016 in Laredo, Texas

» Setter Camdyn Sears continues to run one of the nation's most efficient offenses, ranking No. 2 in the LSC and No. 34 nationally with 9.89 assists per set. She also leads the league and ranks No. 15 nationally in total assists (643). The freshman has posted 10 double-doubles, including a season-high 54 assists and 23 digs against Western New Mexico.

» Senior outside hitter Lily Bickley remains among the league's most efficient attackers, hitting .322 (7th LSC, 105th nationally) while ranking fourth in the LSC in total kills (192) and eighth in total blocks (47). She's also 15th in the LSC in points per set (3.40). Friday, she posted 15 kills to surpass 1,000 career kills. LCU had not had a player with at least 1,000 career kills since Maddie Johnson and Kasey Deterding each reached the mark in the 2015 season. Bickley, who ranks 34th among active Division II players in career kills (1,001), marks the third 1,000-kill producer for LCU since the current rally scoring format started in 2008.

» Libero Abby Dominguez anchors the back row, ranking No. 2 in the LSC and No. 37 nationally with 4.97 digs per set, while her 333 total digs also stands No. 2 in the LSC and ranks No. 16 nationally. She has produced seven 20+ dig matches this season and Tuesday, at ENMU, she notched a career-high seven assists.

» Sophomore Jade Workman continues to emerge as a reliable scoring option, hitting .225 on the year and averaging 2.05 kills per set. She was named LSC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 7) after hitting .449 with 3.50 kills per set in road wins at St. Mary's and St. Edward's.

» Outside hitter Emilee Sikora has 10 double-digit kill outings this season and ranks 15th in the LSC in kills per set (2.90) and 17th in points per set (3.21).

» Middle blocker Bryleigh Schweer adds balance on both ends, ranking No.10 in the LSC in hitting percentage (.312) and No.7 in total blocks (53, 0.91/set). Schweer, who had her fifth double-figure kill performance of the season Friday (14th of her career), led all players with seven blocks. The 7.0 blocks match the team-high this season for a Lady Chap, both occurring in four-set matches (Bickley had 7.0 blocks on Sept. 19 against UT Permian Basin).

» The Lady Chaps' defense has become one of their hallmarks. LCU has out-dug opponents in 14 of 18 matches and is 14–0 this season when winning the dig battle.

» Teamwide, LCU ranks among the top 15 nationally in six major categories, including assists per set (13.1, 15th), digs per set (18.4, 12th), kills per set (13.9, 26th), total assists (880, 2nd), total digs (1,230, 9th), and total attacks (2,599, 8th)

LOOKING AT OC
- LCU, 8-1 all-time against OC, won the first seven all-time meetings and suffered their first loss in the series last season (3-0 on Nov. 8, 2024) in Lubbock. The Lady Chaps won the first 14 sets played in the all-time series. Four of the last six meetings have been scheduled in Lubbock, where LCU is 3-1 in the series. Earlier this season, on Sept. 20 in the LSC Crossover, LCU swept OC 3-0 to improve to 5-0 all-time against the Eagles in Oklahoma City.

- Oklahoma Christian has continued its strong early-season form, standing at 10–5 overall and 2–3 in Lone Star Conference play, but after a 7-1 start to the season, the Eagles have gone 3-4 over their last seven matches. The Eagles have been solid away from home (8–3 combined on the road and at neutral sites) but fell in five sets Friday (3-2) at Midwestern State. OC has earned seven sweeps this fall, including road wins at UT Dallas, Southeastern Oklahoma State, and Cal Poly Humboldt.

- The Eagles remain one of the league's most efficient attacks, ranking fourth in the LSC in hitting percentage (.231) and in assists per set (12.33). They also sixth in both kills per set (12.96) and blocks per set (1.91), giving them one of the league's most balanced statistical profiles.

- Senior middle Camryn McGough continues to anchor the front line with a .392 hitting percentage (second in the LSC) and 0.91 blocks per set. Outside hitter Annie Davis ranks among the league's top offensive threats, averaging 3.42 kills per set (4th LSC) and 3.63 points per set (9th in LSC). Setter Sophie Mae Smith runs the offense at 6.06 assists per set, with Summer Van Meerveld adding 5.04 assists per set.

- From the service line, the Eagles average 1.43 aces per set behind senior Lauren Cary's 0.51 aces per set, which ranks No.3 in the conference. Defensively, libero Macey Nehring (4.10 digs/set) and sophomore Chloe Jones (3.37) form one of the LSC's top back-row tandems, helping OC hold opponents to a .182 hitting percentage.
