LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian University volleyball (13-4, 5-0 LSC) enters the weekend riding a nine-match win streak, its longest since a 12-match tear in 2018. The Lady Chaps have opened Lone Star Conference play 5-0 for the first time since starting 6-0 in 2021, following Tuesday's 3- 0 road victory at Eastern New Mexico in Portales, N.M. to conclude a three-match road trip. They return home, where they are 5-2 and winners of their last two home matches.  LCU is the only 5-0 team in the LSC (conference record) and joins UT Tyler (4-0) as the two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play.

» LCU continues to pace the LSC offensively, leading the league in kills per set (13.71) and assists per set (13.05) — ranking No. 26 and No. 15 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also sit No. 2 in the LSC and No. 12 nationally in digs per set (18.21).

» The Lady Chaps top the conference in total kills (864), total assists (822), team digs (1,147), and total attacks (2,423) — all ranking among the nation's top 10. Their .221 hitting percentage ranks sixth in the LSC and 66th nationally, while their .154 opponent hitting percentage is fourth-best in the LSC and 62nd nationally. Tuesday, LCU held ENMU to a -.078 attack percentage. It marked the first time the Lady Chaps have held an opposing team in the negative since Sept. 29, 2018 (-.071 vs. Texas A&M Int'l), and the -.078 is the worst hitting mark by an LCU opponent since they held TAMIU to a -.102 on Oct. 1, 2016 in Laredo, Texas

» Setter Camdyn Sears continues to run one of the nation's most efficient offenses, ranking No. 2 in the LSC and No. 34 nationally with 9.74 assists per set. She also leads the league and ranks No. 15 nationally in total assists (594). The freshman has posted nine double-doubles, including a season-high 54 assists and 23 digs against Western New Mexico.

» Senior outside hitter Lily Bickley remains among the league's most efficient attackers, hitting .323 (7th LSC, 105th nationally) while ranking 8th in the LSC in total kills (177) and 8th in total blocks (46). She's also 13th in the LSC in points per set (3.37). She is 14 kills away from claiming her 1,000th career kill. LCU has not had a player with at least 1,000 career kills since Maddie Johnson and Kasey Deterding each reached the mark in the 2015 season. Bickley, who ranks 34th among active Division II players in career kills, would mark the third 1,000-kill producer for LCU since the current rally scoring format started in 2008.

» Libero Abby Dominguez anchors the back row, ranking No. 2 in the LSC and No. 37 nationally with 4.90 digs per set, while her 309 total digs stand No. 2 in the LSC and No. 16 nationally. She has produced six 20+ dig matches this season and notched a career-high seven assists in the sweep of ENMU.

» Sophomore Jade Workman continues to emerge as a reliable scoring option, hitting .254 on the year and averaging 2.11 kills per set. She was named LSC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 7) after hitting .449 with 3.50 kills per set in road wins at St. Mary's and St. Edward's.

» Outside hitter Emilee Sikora has nine double-digit kill outings this season and ranks 12th in the LSC in kills per set (2.91) and 15th in points per set (3.21).

» Middle blocker Bryleigh Schweer adds balance on both ends, ranking No. 9 in the LSC in hitting percentage (.306) and No. 8 in total blocks (46, 0.85/set). Her four-block effort against ENMU helped LCU post a season-best 7.0 blocks in a three-set match.

» The Lady Chaps' defense has become one of their hallmarks. LCU has out-dug opponents in 13 of 17 matches and is 13–0 this season when winning the dig battle.

» Teamwide, LCU ranks among the top 15 nationally in six major categories, including assists per set (13.05, 15th), digs per set (18.21, 12th), kills per set (13.71, 26th), total assists (822, 2nd), total digs (1,147, 9th), and total attacks (2,423, 8th)

LOOKING AT CU
 - LCU and the Aggies have met nine prior times, with LCU holding a 6-3 edge in the series. The first five meetings of the all-time series were at neutral sites. The two squads are meeting in Lubbock for a third consecutive season (LCU won last season 3-0 on Nov. 9, 2024), as LCU is 2-0 all-time at home against Cameron.

- Cameron (4–12, 0–4 LSC) has endured a challenging first half of the season, entering Friday on a five-match skid and still seeking its first Lone Star Conference win. The Aggies have shown flashes in nonconference play with four victories — including three neutral-site wins — but have struggled to find rhythm on the road (0–6). Cameron's lone home win came in early September over East Central, and they'll look to regroup after dropping consecutive home matches to UTPB and Angelo State.

- First-year head coach Melissa Avila joined Cameron after eight seasons at Western Texas College, including six as head coach. A former collegiate standout at Dickinson State, she helped Hastings College win the 2016 NAIA National Championship as a graduate assistant. Avila's ties to the South Plains (Western Texas College is based in Snyder, Texas) has resulted in a pair of South Plains products on the roster: Serah Woosley (Denver City) and Addison McClure (Lubbock, Frenship H.S.).

- Despite a challenging schedule, Cameron has shown flashes of competitiveness, particularly in long rallies and defensive consistency. The Aggies rank among the LSC's top 10 in total digs (877) and total attacks (2,001), while averaging 15.4 digs per set. Their defensive effort has kept them close in multiple matches, highlighted by balanced play across the rotation and improving block production (87 total, 10th in LSC).

- Defensively, Cameron shows flashes of promise behind libero Anastasija Andelic, who ranks 15th in the LSC with 3.24 digs per set and has also contributed 20 aces from the service line. Presleigh Roest anchors the front row, ranking sixth in the league with 49 total blocks (0.86/set). The Aggies are also among the conference's top half in total attacks (2,001) — showing their ability to extend rallies even when scoring efficiency lags.
