SAN ANGELO, Texas (November 22, 2025) – A historic Saturday awaits No. 2-seed Lubbock Christian University, as the Lady Chaps step onto the Lone Star Conference Championship stage for the first time in program history, battling top-seed and host Angelo State at 3 p.m. inside the Junell Center with an NCAA postseason berth on the line. LCU, chasing its first conference tournament title since the 2007 Sooner Athletic Conference and seeking the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, enters the final riding one of the winningest seasons in school history and now stands one victory from rewriting every page of its postseason record book. The league's top two seeds have held form—and now the Lady Chaps get their shot at the crown.

» Lubbock Christian (25–6) delivered one of its strongest conference campaigns ever, finishing 15–2 in the Lone Star Conference (program's single-season record for conference wins) to claim a share of the regular-season title—its first in the LSC and 14th conference crown overall. The Lady Chaps opened league play 11–0, highlighted by a dominant four-match road sweep of St. Mary's, St. Edward's, Eastern New Mexico and UT Tyler. Their balance carried them through October with wins over Cameron, Oklahoma Christian, UT Dallas, Texas A&M International and Texas A&M–Kingsville. After a narrow five-set loss at West Texas A&M and a sweep by Angelo State, LCU sealed the championship with a dramatic 3–2 Senior Night win over Midwestern State. The opened the postseason Thursday with a thrilling 3-2 win over Oklahoma Christian and followed with a 3-0 win Friday in the Semifinals over Texas Woman's to garner their 25
th win of the season, which is their highest single-season win mark since a 25-win 2010 campaign (If LCU wins a 26
th game, it would mark the most wins since a 27-win 2009 season).
» The Lady Chaps are in the LSC Championships for a second consecutive season and are making their fourth LSC Championships appearance (seventh season in the LSC) and are 3-3 all-time in the championships. Last season, LCU went to Canyon, Texas as the No.8-seed and lost to No.1-seed and host No.5 West Texas A&M. LCU is making their second trip to San Angelo for a conference championship tournament, as they made the trip to the Concho Valley in 2021 in head coach
Keith Giboney's first season at LCU. That season, the No.3-seeded Lady Chaps defeated No.6-seed Dallas Baptist, but fell to No.10-seed St. Edward's. Historically,
Payton Murray is LCU's LSC postseason leader in kills (40), Sage Chain is their leader in blocks (11),
Camdyn Sears is their leader in assists (97, 12.1 per set) and
Abby Dominguez is their leader in digs (69, 6.3 per set).
» LCU earned its most decorated LSC awards night since joining the league, with seven Lady Chaps honored on Wednesday in San Angelo. Senior
Lily Bickley became LCU's first LSC Academic Player of the Year and added First Team All-Conference recognition. Freshman setter
Camdyn Sears made conference history as both Setter and Freshman of the Year, also earning First Team and All-Freshman honors.

Keith Giboney was named LSC Coach of the Year, claiming his first personal Coach of the Year conference honor since 2007 and sixth in his career (the prior five were in the Gulf South Conference).
» Lubbock Christian enters the Championship Match still operating as the Lone Star Conference's top offensive unit, leading the league in kills per set (14.06) and assists per set (13.39), marks that remain No. 23 and No. 10 nationally. The Lady Chaps also remain third in the LSC and 10th nationally in digs per set at 19.69, while hitting .217 on the season.
» LCU continues to post unmatched statistical volume in NCAA Division II.
They now sit at 1,673 total kills, 1,593 total assists, and 4,866 total attacks, while standing at 2,343 digs. Their 40.87 attacks per set continues to rank among the national leaders, and their 218.5 total blocks remain among the top marks in the LSC.

Camdyn Sears' All-American trajectory continues, now up to 1,236 assists (second-most in program rally-era history) and averaging 10.56 assists per set. She also has 362 digs (3.09 per set) and has recorded 21 double-doubles.
» Senior middle blocker
Lily Bickley remains one of the LSC's most efficient attackers, now with 352 kills, .331 hitting efficiency, 92 total blocks, and 414.5 points. Her 839 attacks still place her inside the national top-20.
» Freshman outside hitter
Emilee Sikora continues her rise as one of the league's elite scorers, now up to 368 kills (3.29/set) and 1,123 attacks, which ranks fourth nationally. Her 12 kills vs. TWU marked her 21st double-figure kill match of the season.
» Senior libero
Abby Dominguez anchors one of Division II's strongest back rows, now surpassing 600 digs with a season total of 601 (5.05/set), ranking her No. 47 nationally. Her 23 digs Friday marked her 14th 20+ dig match of 2025.
» Junior middle blocker
Bryleigh Schweer continues a career-best season with 98 total blocks (0.90/set), 212 kills, and a .277 hitting percentage. She now has 11 double-digit kill matches on the season.
» Senior outside hitter
Payton Murray enters the final with 233 kills (2.77/set) and 10 double-figure kill matches this season. Her 21 kills Thursday and 10 more Friday give her 37 career double-digit kill performances.
» LCU's defensive depth remains a hallmark, with five players averaging at least 2.0 digs per set and seven players reaching 20+ blocks. Their 19.69 digs per set and 137-dig outing vs. Oklahoma Christian both remain among the best marks in the rally-era.
» LCU's 272 attacks, 81 kills, and 79 assists vs. Oklahoma Christian continue to stand among the top-two single-match totals in rally-era program history. The Lady Chaps remain 5–3 in five-set matches, including 1–1 in neutral-site five setters.
LOOKING AT ASU
- LCU and Angelo State are meeting for the 37
th time all-time. ASU won the prior meeting 3-0 in Lubbock (Nov. 8). ASU, who had a nine-match win streak from 1980, has won the prior 10 meetings and leads the all-time series 27-9. Six of the last eight meetings have been played in San Angelo, where the Belles are 14-5 against LCU. The Lady Chaps last win in the Concho Valley over the Belles was on Nov. 8, 2014.
- In their prior meeting, Lubbock Christian University fell 3–0 to Angelo State inside Rip Griffin Center, dropping a key Lone Star Conference matchup which turned out to be the seeding tiebreaker for the LSC Championship. The Rambelles overpowered the Lady Chaps 3-0 (25–23, 25–10, 25–16), ending LCU's nine-match home win streak and handing them their first home loss since early September.
Abby Dominguez secured her 500th dig of the season with an 11-dig performance, while
Lily Bickley led LCU with seven kills. Angelo State dominated behind Madi Parrish's 17 kills and 15 digs and Julia Hopkins' 15 kills, as ASU hit efficiently and controlled every phase to sweep the match.
- Angelo State closed the regular season at 23–7 overall and 15–2 in the Lone Star Conference, earning a share of the LSC regular-season championship with Lubbock Christian. The Rambelles were dominant at home, where they have not lost this season inside the Junell Center, and entered the postseason on a six-match win streak capped by a 3–0 sweep of Texas A&M International on Nov. 15. ASU's season featured marquee wins over West Texas A&M, UT Tyler and LCU.
- Angelo State collected nine Lone Star Conference honors, headlined by junior outside hitter Madi Parrish, who was voted both LSC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, becoming only the second Belle ever to earn the league's top honor. Parrish also made the All-LSC First Team and All-Academic Team. Fellow All-American Demi Carter joined her on the first team after averaging 2.89 kills per set since returning from injury. Ireland Ferguson and Julia Hopkins earned second-team recognition, while Cate Boldrick claimed honorable mention, and Raelee Allen landed on the LSC All-Freshman Team.
- Angelo State powered into the LSC Championship match with back-to-back sweeps built on dominant defense and timely scoring. The Belles opened by stifling Texas A&M–Kingsville, holding the Javelinas to a season-low .039 attack percentage behind standout blocking from Cate Boldrick and Hannah Spencer, while Julia Hopkins (10 kills) and Madi Parrish (9) paced the offense. In Friday's semifinal, ASU outlasted UT Tyler in three tight sets, fueled by Parrish's 15 kills, another 10-kill outing from Hopkins, and libero Ireland Ferguson, who logged her 1,000th career dig while anchoring a defense that limited the Patriots to .172 hitting.
