LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian sits at 7–4 overall following Friday's 3–1 win over UT Permian Basin at the Lone Star Conference Crossover. The Lady Chaps have strung together their first three-match winning streak of the season and improved to 2–7 all-time in LSC Crossover play.

» The Lady Chaps rank No. 2 nationally in total kills (549) and total digs (724), leading the Lone Star Conference in both categories. They also sit among the LSC's top three in kills per set (13.39) and digs per set (17.66), reflecting their high-tempo, scrappy style of play.

» Freshman setter Camdyn Sears has 344 assists on the year (No. 2 in LSC, 8.82 per set), along with 111 digs. She notched her sixth double-double of the season Friday vs. UTPB (45 assists, 11 digs) and has posted 45+ assists in back-to-back matches.

» Libero Abby Dominguez continues to anchor the back row with 189 digs (4.61/set), which ranks No. 1 in the LSC and No. 8 nationally. She has three 20+ dig matches this season, including 24 against Eastern New Mexico.

» Senior outside hitter Lily Bickley leads LCU with 115 kills (2.88/set) on a .306 hitting clip (Top 15 in LSC). She turned in a season-high 17.5 points Friday vs. UTPB, tying a season-best with 13 kills while adding a career-second-best seven blocks. She is just 76 kills away from reaching 1,000 for her career, which would make her the first Lady Chap to reach the milestone since 2015.

» Supporting Cast:
  • Emilee Sikora: Second on the team in kills (94, 2.76/set), she exploded for seven kills in one set against UTPB.
  • Bryleigh Schweer: Hitting .305 on the season with 66 kills and 21 blocks. Her .563 attack clip and two aces vs. UTPB showcased her efficiency.
  • Payton Murray: Third on the squad in total kills (92), while ranking among the LSC's leaders in total attacks (327).
  • Camryn Blair: Provided a spark with a career-high 18 kills vs. CSU Pueblo, then followed with four kills in the closing set vs. UTPB.
  • Jade Workman: Versatile contributor with 69 kills, 98 assists, and 57 digs.

» Team Trends:
  • LCU is 7–1 this season when holding opponents under .200 hitting.
  • Friday vs. UTPB, LCU's .311 hitting percentage marked their third match this season over .300.
  • Six different Lady Chaps have recorded a double-digit kill match already this year (Bickley, Sikora, Murray, Schweer, Blair, Fleitman).
  • LCU's 10 team blocks vs. UTPB were their most in a four-set match since Oct. 14, 2023 (also against UTPB).

» LCU wraps up non-conference action Saturday the Lone Star Conference Crossover in Oklahoma City, facing Oklahoma Christian before beginning full Lone Star Conference play. This season marks the fourth season in the LSC for the LSC Crossover (it is a conference-organized event to fill schedules, with all LSC programs split into six different locations based on 2024 LSC standings). LCU is 2-7 all-time in the crossover after Friday's win. In 2022, LCU was 0-3 in San Angelo, Texas, 1-3 at home in 2023 (serving as a host of the event) and 0-2 last season in Laredo, Texas. LCU is 1-0 against OC in LSC Crossover meetings.

LOOKING AT OC
 - LCU won the first seven all-time meetings until losing in their prior meeting 3-1 last season (Nov. 8, 2024) in Lubbock. The Lady Chaps won the first 14 sets played in the all-time series. Four of the last five meetings have been scheduled in Lubbock, as LCU is 4-0 all-time against the Eagles in Oklahoma City (LCU won 3-1 on Sept. 23, 2023 in their prior trip to Eagles' Nest).

- Oklahoma Christian has raced out to a 7–1 start, its best opening since joining the Lone Star Conference. The Eagles have leaned on neutral-site success, going 5–1 in tournament play, while adding a true road win at Cal Poly Humboldt during a three-match California swing this past weekend (like UTPB, OC was in California last weekend). Their lone loss came in a five-set battle against Chico State. Thursday, OC opened their two-game LSC Crossover with a 3-0 win over UTPB in a match that doubled as their home opener.

- OC has been one of the LSC's most efficient teams, ranking second in hitting percentage (.267) and second in opponent hitting percentage (.128). The Eagles also sit top-3 in blocks per set (2.31, 2nd LSC) and kills per set (13.59, 3rd LSC), giving them balance on both sides of the net. Their .875 winning percentage is second in the league only to Texas A&M–Kingsville.

- Senior middle Camryn McGough has emerged as one of the league's most efficient hitters, ranking No. 4 in the LSC with a .404 hitting percentage, while adding 0.88 blocks per set (eighth in LSC). Outside hitter Annie Davis leads the offense at 3.42 kills per set (6th LSC) and contributes 3.67 points per set. Setter Sophie Mae Smith runs the attack with 180 total assists, complemented by Summer Van Meerveld's 5.07 assists per set. Libero Macey Nehring anchors the back row with 4.37 digs per set (8th LSC).

- The Eagles' California trip offered an early proving ground, highlighted by sweeps over Jessup and Dominican and a four-set win at Cal Poly Humboldt. OC has yet to drop a match in less than five sets. Their balanced attack—three players averaging over 2.4 kills per set—makes them difficult to scout, while McGough's team-leading efficiency gives them a go-to presence in the middle.
