LADY CHAP NOTES
» Lubbock Christian sits at 8–4 overall, as they enter LSC play. They opened the season with a grueling stretch of 10 matches in nine days before winning each of their two games of the Lone Star Conference Crossover (first time ever). They head into conference action on a season-best four-match win streak, as they produced the program's best pre-conference record since opening 8–2 in 2023 and second-best under fifth-year head coach Keith Giboney.

» Setter Camdyn Sears earned Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week after handing out 88 assists in seven sets at the Crossover. Her 43 assists vs. OC were the most by a Lady Chap in a three-set match since 2014. She ranks No. 15 nationally (No. 1 in the LSC) in total assists (387).

» At the LSC Crossover, the Lady Chaps opened with a 3–1 victory over UT Permian Basin before sweeping Oklahoma Christian 3–0. The weekend included season-best efficiency, as LCU hit .455 against OC — its highest mark in 15 years — and posted back-to-back matches over .300 hitting for the first time this season.

» Emilee Sikora powered Lubbock Christian's offense to a perfect 2–0 showing at the Lone Star Conference Crossover, averaging 3.86 kills per set while hitting a blistering .396 across seven sets. She tallied 27 kills on 53 swings, including a team-high 15 kills on .500 hitting in Saturday's sweep of Oklahoma Christian — the most by a Lady Chap in a three-set match this season and one of the LSC's top single-match performances of the week. Sikora added 20 digs, four blocks, and 29.0 points, providing balance in both the front and back rows. Her efforts helped LCU post its third-highest team hitting percentage of the current rally-scoring era (.455 vs. OC) Sikora ranked Top 10 in the LSC in both kills per set (3.86, T-8th) and hitting percentage (.396, 9th) for the week. She leads the team at 2.95 kills/set.

» Lily Bickley turned in 13 kills and seven blocks vs. UTPB for a 17.5-point outing, her season high. She and Bryleigh Schweer both rank top-15 in the LSC in hitting percentage (.316 and .322, respectively). Bickley leads the team with 124 kills (2.88/set), hitting .316 (12th in LSC). She has reached double-digit kills in seven matches, including six of the last seven matches played. Bickley also ranks top-10 in the LSC for total blocks (33, 6th). She is 67 kills away from claiming her 1,000th career kill. LCU has not had a player with at least 1,000 career kills since Maddie Johnson and Kasey Deterding each reached the mark in the 2015 season. Bickley, who ranks 35th among active Division II players in career kills, would mark the third 1,000-kill producer for LCU since the current rally scoring format started in 2008.

» Depth continues to be a strength for LCU, with multiple contributors chipping in behind the top scoring trio. Payton Murray is averaging 2.67 kills/set and ranks third on the team in total kills (104), while also adding 16 blocks. Jade Workman has provided balance as a setter/hitter hybrid with 69 kills, 98 assists, and 57 digs. Camryn Blair has been an efficient spark, averaging 2.58 kills/set in limited action, highlighted by four kills in the decisive fourth set vs. UTPB. LCU's balanced offense has already seen six different players record double-digit kills in a match (Bickley, Tatum Fleitman, Murray, Sikora, Camryn Blair, Schweer) this season.

» Abby Dominguez leads the LSC and ranks 14th nationally with 204 total digs. Her 4.64 digs/set are fifth-best in the LSC. Her season has been highlighted by three 20+ dig performances, including 24 against Eastern New Mexico.

» LCU ranks No. 2 in the LSC in both kills per set (13.68) and assists per set (12.93). Nationally, the Lady Chaps sit 18th in assists/set and 29th in kills/set. Defensively, LCU ranks No. 4 in the LSC in digs per set (17.52) and limits opponents to .176 hitting, eighth-best in the league. In team totals, LCU leads the Lone Star in both kills (602) and digs (771). Their 1,699 total attacks are also most in the conference.

» The Lady Chaps have gone 9-7 in each of the past two seasons in conference matches, qualifying for the LSC Championships last season. LCU fell last season to Texas Woman's (in Denton, Texas) in their conference opener 3-1, which placed LCU with a 24-6 all-time record in conference openers and 3-3 in Lone Star Conference openers. The Lady Chaps are opening conference play at home for the first time since 2022. They are opening conference play against Sul Ross State for the first time ever.

LOOKING AT SRSU
 - The Lady Chaps and Lobos will square off for the 50th time, with Lubbock Christian holding a commanding 38–11 lead in the all-time series. Sul Ross State dominated the early years, winning nine of the first 10 meetings between 1979–81, before LCU flipped the script with a 17-match win streak from 1983–89. The Lobos' last victory came on Oct. 21, 1991, and since then the Lady Chaps have taken 19 straight matches, including a sweep in last year's meeting in Lubbock. The two programs share history as former conference foes in the Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association (TIAA) and later clashed in NAIA postseason play in 1981, 1983, 1985, and 1991. This marks Sul Ross State's second consecutive trip to Lubbock, with their only prior visit before last season coming back in 1994.

- Sul Ross State enters the weekend 2–4 overall and riding a four-match losing streak after dropping contests to Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico in the LSC Challenge. Both of their victories came opening weekend in Silver City, where the Lobos knocked off WNMU (3–2) and ENMU (3–1). Friday's matchup at Lubbock Christian marks their Lone Star Conference opener after going 2–14 in league play last year, their inaugural season in the conference.

- Junior setter Eliana Mata has been a steady contributor throughout her career and is on the verge of a major milestone. With 941 career assists, Mata needs just 59 more to become the sixth Lobo in program history to reach 1,000 career assists. This season she leads the team with 69 helpers (3.29/set).

- Freshman outside hitter Samantha Senak has made an immediate impact, pacing the Lobos at 2.00 kills per set while hitting .240. Senior Cassandra Espinoza has added balance with 1.71 kills per set and a team-high eight service aces (0.38/set). Sarah Chavez (1.38 k/s) and Danielle Senak (1.42 k/s) have also provided depth to the attack.

- Defensively, junior libero BreAnna Quarles anchors the back row with a team-best 3.65 digs per set (73 total), while Espinoza contributes 3.00 digs per set. At the net, Samantha Senak has posted a team-leading 10 blocks, averaging 0.48 per set, as the Lobos look to improve their presence at the net against Lone Star opponents.
