Beth (Capps) Cobb played at Lubbock Christian fro 1993 to 1997, setting numerous single-season and career offensive records, several of which still stand today.

Cobb became the new all-time Lady Chap leader in points scored during her career with 1,773, although that number has since been surpassed by fellow Hall of Honor inductee Nicole Hampton. Cobb does still hold the school record for field goals made with 640 and ranks in the top five in program history in points per game average (16.1), field goals attempted (1,316) and free throws attempted (586). She also holds the single season records for points scored (657), points per game (22.7) and field goals made, all of which came during the 1996-97 season.

A local product who prepped just across the street at Lubbock Christian High School where she earned TAPPS 2A State Athlete of the Year, Cobb played a backup role at forward during her freshman year. Playing in 25 games, she averaged 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest. She set a season-high with 12 points in a game against Sul Ross.

As a sophomore, Cobb moved into the starting lineup for all 27 games and really began to show her abilities on the court as LCU posted a winning record in women's basketball for the first time in three years. She averaged 16.8 points per game for the year, shooting 47.6 percent from the floor on 338 field goal attempts. Her 454 points during the year were good enough for fourth most in a single-season ever by a Lady Chap at the time, and she was named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference Second Team.

Improving again in her junior season, Cobb set a new single-season scoring record with 574 points, averaging 19.8 per game for the year. She got 37 of those points in a single game on February 1st, matching the program single-game record. Her performance on the court led to her repeating on the All-SAC Second Team, and she was also honored on the NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete.

All Cobb did during her senior year was break every record she had set during her junior season, turning in one of the best single-season performances in Lady Chap history. Surpassing her own single-season mark for points scored by 83, Cobb averaged 22.7 per game with 8.8 rebounds in each contest. She made 237 field goals and 166 free throws on 212 attempts, with all three of those marks also ranking at the top of the Lady Chap record books. She also broke her own single-game scoring record with 38 points on November 11, shooting 88.9 percent from the field against Oklahoma Panhandle State. She was named to the All-SAC First Team the NAIA All-America Second Team, becoming just the second All-American in school history.

Cobb was inducted into the LCU Athletic Hall of Honor in 2006.
