Hall of Honor
Omondi was the first two-time NAIA All-American in program history. A 6-5 forward during his time, Omondi may have been one of the best true student-athletes in men's basketball. Along with his two All-American honors, he also claimed a pair of national All-Scholar Athlete honors.
The Nairobi, Kenya native is LCU's all-time leader in field goal attempts (1,410), second in free-throws made (417) and free-throw attempts (615), third in LCU history in career points scored (1,614),and fifth all-time in field goals made (583).
He was part of the 2000-2001 Chap squad, which claimed LCU's only postseason tournament title (2001 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted in the Rip Griffin Center). The 2000-2001 squad completed LCU's longest venture into the NAIA National Tournament with an Elite Eight finish.Â
Omondi lives in the Lubbock community. and was inducted into the LCU Athletic Hall of Honor in 2014.
