Edd Workman attended Lubbock Christian College when it was still a junior college and qualified for the College National Finals four times, 1959, 60, 61,& 62, before launching a successful rodeo career.
He is the only person in history to win the College All-Around Title 3 consecutive years, and in 2005 he was named to the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.Â
In 1959 he was 2nd in the All-Around standings. In 1960 he placed 3rd in the Bareback, 1st in the Saddle Bronc, 3rd in the Calf Roping, 3rd in the Steer Wrestling and 1st in the All-Around. In 1961 he placed 2nd in the Bareback, 2nd in the Saddle Bronc, 3rd in Ribbon Roping, 3rd in Steer Wrestling, and 1st in the All-Around. In 1962 he was 2nd in Bareback, 1st in Saddle Bronc and 1st in the All-Around.Â
In 1976, Edd set the record for the most money won at a single rodeo at the Houston Livestock Show rodeo - breaking a record that had stood since 1947. In 1976 he also won the Calf Roping at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and qualified for the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City.
